Patient Service Representative

Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery is looking for a motivated Patient Service Representative to join our team. Our culture fosters family, purposeful work, individual accountability, and execution. We’re looking for a self-starter interested in working in a fast-past and dynamic oral surgery environment to help promote exceptional patient service. The PSR is responsible for creating a positive patient experience and building a positive work environment.

Responsibilities include

  • Confirms and updates patient identification, demographic and insurance information
  • Prepares patient chart for appointment
  • Complete check-in/out functions
  • Obtains patient consents/authorizations as well as insurance pre-authorization/referrals. 
  • Answering incoming calls, documents & relays messages to appropriate personnel.
  • Schedules and reschedules appointments, as needed.
  • Maintains medical records.

Implant Treatment Coordinator

Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery is looking for a motivated Implant Treatment Coordinator to join our team. Our culture fosters family, purposeful work, individual accountability, and execution. We’re looking for a self-starter interested in working in a fast-past and dynamic oral surgery environment to help promote exceptional patient service. The ITC is responsible for creating a positive patient experience and building a positive work environment.

Responsibilities include

  • Coordinate and schedule dental implant patients, to include consultations, surgeries and post-operative appointments.
  • Initiate, research and supply insurance companies with requirements for dental implant treatment.
  • Coordinates and maintains all correspondence with dental implant patients.
  • Maintains dental implant logs and patient medical records.
  • Coordinates and maintains all correspondence with referring dentist.
  • Primary contact for dental implant financial obligations.

Surgery Assistant

Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery is looking for an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant to join our practice. Our culture fosters family, purposeful work, individual accountability, and execution. We’re looking for a motivated self-starter interested in working in a fast-past and dynamic oral surgery environment to help promote exceptional patient service. The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant performs patient care activities as a member of the surgical team and will also assist with sterilization of instruments and equipment. Office-based surgery experience preferred. If you are interested in joining our team here are the essential functions of the role:

Responsibilities include

  • Greet & seat patients.
  • Capture digital x-rays and CT scans.
  • Update patient medications and allergies at each patient encounter.
  • Assist with chart documentation during evaluations and post-operative appointments.
  • Set up for non-sterile & sterile procedures with appropriate instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Prepare patient for appropriate procedure/exam.
  • Assist surgeon during surgical procedures.
  • Circulates during surgical procedures, completing necessary paperwork.
  • Recover patients and review post-op instructions with patient and/or responsibility party.
  • Maintains sterilization and clinical logs.
  • Restocks supplies as needed.

Employment Qualifications

  • Oral and Maxillofacial surgery experience preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Familiar with anatomy and medical and dental terminology pertaining to oral surgery
  • Demonstrated understanding of sterilization principles required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Radiology certification preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Assist with sedated patients
  • Prolonged periods of standing and bending
