Meet Dr. Herrera

Mauricio Herrera, D.D.S. has been practicing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) since 2011. Originally from San Salvador, El Salvador, Dr. Herrera always knew he wanted a career that would change people’s lives. At an early age he started getting involved in community outreach programs and loved the rewarding feeling of helping people in all capacities.
After many years of schooling, Dr. Herrera completed his full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Training Program at the Medical Center of San Juan in Puerto Rico. He then started his career in the United States at an OMS practice in Northern Virginia. After visiting Richmond a few times, he fell in love with the area and decided to open his own practice. As of 2020, Dr. Herrera will be joining the VOFS family to offer our patients exceptional care in a state-of-the-art facility.

Philanthropy is at the heart of what Dr. Herrera does every day. He has traveled to the Dominican Republic and Haiti to offer free dental services to those in need, and is planning more in the future. As a member of Rotary International, Dr. Herrera is always striving to improve Chester and the world at large one smile at a time.
